Lion Implanter Pen

The LION implanter creates the recipient site and places the follicular unit graft in a single step, instead of making the incision and placing the graft separately. It is manufactured by Hans Biomed in Seoul, South Korea.

Implanters and replacement needles are supplied sterile, sterilised with ethylene oxide, in a double-layer blister pack, and are intended for single patient use.

Sizes and intended grafts

  • 0.64 mm (HT06 / HN06): eyebrow and eyelash grafts
  • 0.8 mm (HT08 / HN08): single-hair grafts
  • 1.0 mm (HT10 / HN10): 2 to 3 hair grafts
  • 1.2 mm (HT12 / HN12): 3 to 4 hair grafts

Choose the needle size that matches the follicular unit you are implanting. Each needle size fits the implanter of the same size code.

Design

  • Components: body, body cover, cap, stopper, bar spring, clip and needle.
  • Needles are exchanged with a clip mechanism; the open part of the clip marks the orientation of the needle bevel.
  • Needles are made of high-quality alloy metal and have a slit for loading the graft.

Changing a needle

The needle is held by a clip. Open the clip to release the used needle, fit the new needle, close the clip and adjust the cap position. The package insert describes each step.

Four illustrated steps for removing a used Lion implanter needle: push the clip, rotate the cap counterclockwise, remove the bar spring, then pull out the used needle.

Four illustrated steps for attaching a new Lion implanter needle: remove the new needle from its cap, insert it into the body, attach the bar spring, then tighten the cap clockwise.
